• Village Homestay Experience

8 day culture and adventure package

  • Go off the beaten path to experience Nepali village culture through a homestay and be a part of preventing exploitation at the source

    Five14's "Sherpa Guarantee"

We'll meet you at the airport in Kathmandu and be with you every step of the way. We are dedicated to making your trip to Nepal an unforgettable and safe experience. Through the trek, Kathmandu tours, and homestays, our staff and guides will show you the side of Nepal few get to truly experience.

Adventure Level: Easy to Moderately Strenuous

    1,200 meters (3,937 ft.) to 1,600 meters (5,250 ft)

Experience Nepali culture first-hand by staying with a family. Your heart will be opened to these people as you share meals of daal bhat (lentils and rice), laugh with them over a cup of tea, and gain a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
In one day, we’ll hike several hours through a beautiful valley to the village where we’ll stay in a traditional Tamang home. You will begin to see things through their eyes as you explore their homes and land, experience their hospitality, and relax in this beautiful place.

    Day 1 - Arrive

Arrive into the Kathmandu International Airport and after picking up your bags and exiting the building you’ll be greeted by one of our Five14 staff, holding our signature sign for you to recognize. We’ll take you in our 6 seater jeep to our bed & breakfast. The bed & breakfast manager will welcome you, show you to your room, and share a brief orientation with you. Then just relax for the rest of the day or night while enjoying some amazing drinks from our cafe!

Day 2 - Orientation and Tour

Wake up and order a complimentary breakfast from our cafe. Afterwards, you’ll meet with your guide for some basic trek preparation. Your guide will inform you of the local customs, history of the village area, show you the mapped out trekking route, and go over a simple packing list. The rest of the day we'll take you on a tour of Kathmandu, where you'll learn about the culture, religion, and social issues the people of Nepal are tackling.

    Day 3 - 6 Village Homestay Experience

Check out the interactive map below for a detailed description, altitude changes, and photos of the village where you'll be staying.

The rest of the day you’ll have time to participate in a nearby day long adventure of mountain biking, bungee jumping, or shopping for memorable souvenirs and gifts.

    Day 8 - Depart

Whenever your scheduled departure flight is, our company driver will drop you off at the Kathmandu International Airport a few hours beforehand. Andi, Pennsylvania

The trip was incredible! It gave us a chance to see and experience real Nepali culture away from the usual tourist traps as well as give back to the community through a building project. Working alongside the Nepali people was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Thanks Five14!

    Tate, North Carolina

My experience was great! I was well taken care of and the adventure was amazing. I would recommend it highly as a culturally insightful trip.

    Josh, Colorado

The treks and their views are mind blowing, the relationship you get to build with locals is even better, they are really taking you "off the beaten path" and succeeding in their attempt to give you a genuine Nepali experience! Everyone should experience the fascinating services they offer.
